7 Thoughts on Discussing Arguments and Evidence
In this episode, I discuss the following 7 thoughts.
- Assertions, even bold ones, are not arguments.
- The quality of evidence is not to be judged solely by how it is received.
- Faith is a gift, but evidence is not worthless.
- Religious beliefs are not mere preference or personal opinion.
- There are different kinds of arguments you can make.
- Distinguish the arguments from the people making the arguments.
- Whenever possible, ask questions rather than make statements, at least initially.
The Classical Theism Podcast aims to defend Catholic Christian ideas in conversation. With the help of various guests, I defend three pillars of the Catholic Christian worldview: (1) the God of classical theism exists, (2) Jesus is our Messiah and Lord, and (3) He founded the Catholic Church. We place a strong emphasis on the first pillar, defending classical theism, drawing upon the work of Thomistic philosopher Dr. Edward Feser and many others.
